Spec updates and new colours for MG3

A fine selection of MG3 models can be found here - is this your new car?

MG Motor South Africa has introduced a series of model year upgrades to its MG3 line-up, with a focus on in-car technology, connectivity and exterior styling. The changes are intended to build on the model’s existing appeal among local buyers looking for accessible design and practical features.

Across all derivatives, the MG3 now comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. The move eliminates the need for cables, offering a more streamlined connection for smartphone users. In addition, two new paint options – Medal Silver and Andean Grey – have been added to the colour range, giving customers a wider selection of finishes.

For the Luxury derivatives, which include the MG3 Hybrid+, interior technology has received more specific attention. Two USB Type-C ports have been fitted at the front central console, with one port providing full data and charging functionality and the other dedicated solely to charging. The analogue high-definition 360-degree camera system has also been replaced with a digital high-definition version, which delivers clearer images and improved visibility for parking and low-speed manoeuvres.

Jack Wang, Vice President at MG Motor South Africa, said the updates were driven by customer feedback. “These updates are a direct response to what our customers value most – intuitive technology, modern design, and everyday practicality,” Wang said. “With these updates to the MG3 range, we continue to deliver more as standard, making advanced features and connectivity accessible to a broader audience.”

The MG3 has gained traction in the local market during 2026, with the brand pointing to its exterior design, efficiency and driving character as key factors behind its monthly sales performance. The model consistently ranks as MG’s top seller in South Africa.

Pricing for the updated range is as follows: MG3 1.5 MT Comfort at R269 900, MG3 1.5 CVT Comfort at R309 900, MG3 1.5 CVT Luxury+ at R359 900, and MG3 1.5 Hybrid+ at R469 900.

All MG3 models are backed by a five-year or 150 000 km warranty, whichever comes first, as part of the company’s after-sales support structure.
