Amid a multitude of new model reveals expected at the Festival of Motoring, running at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit from August 28 to 30, Lepas South Africa has confirmed its all-electric L6 EV will appear at the show as part of a series of preview events leading up to the model’s local launch, with the formal market introduction expected at a later date. Festival attendees will have the opportunity to view the vehicle in person.
The L6 EV combines a 67,08 kWh battery with a cabin that includes a number of convenience features and a suite of driver-assistance systems. The model represents the next step in the brand’s expanding local line-up. It will be exhibited alongside the petrol-powered L6, which is set to enter the South African market in the third quarter of 2026. The two variants are intended to offer buyers a choice of powertrain options within the same model range.
Power for the electric version comes from a front-mounted motor producing 160 kW and 275 Nm, driving the front wheels. The vehicle achieves a WLTC-rated range of up to 450 km and supports both AC and DC charging, with a 6,6 kW onboard charger and a CCS Type 2 connection. A portable Type 2 charger is included as standard equipment. Driving modes include Eco, Normal and Sport, while independent rear suspension and electric power steering contribute to the handling characteristics. The L6 EV rides on 19-inch alloy wheels and features ventilated front disc brakes and rear disc brakes, with red calipers as a visual detail.

Inside, the cabin includes an 8,88-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13,2-inch central touchscreen, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, Bluetooth and voice control. An eight-speaker Sony audio system and 50 W wireless smartphone charging are also part of the specification. The seats are trimmed in leatherette, with electric adjustment for the front occupants, along with heating and ventilation for both. The driver’s seat includes memory function and four-way lumbar adjustment. Dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air vents, a panoramic sunroof, multi-colour ambient lighting and a power tailgate complete the interior convenience items.
The driver-assistance package includes 20 ADAS features. Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist and Integrated Cruise Assist are included, along with Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Emergency Lane Keeping. Automatic Emergency Braking covers vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, while Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Rear Cross-Traffic Braking provide additional support during reversing manoeuvres. A 540-degree camera system and Fully Automatic Parking Assist are fitted, with front and rear parking sensors. LED headlights with Intelligent Headlight Control, rain-sensing wipers and seven airbags round out the safety equipment.
Letitia Herold, National Brand and Marketing Manager at Lepas South Africa, said the L4 had marked the start of the brand’s local presence earlier in 2026, and that the upcoming L6 introduction would build on that foundation. She added offering different powertrains within the same model line gave customers more choice, and that the brand intended to continue expanding its range to suit various buyer needs.

Separately, iCAUR South Africa will publicly unveil the V27 at the same event, with pre-orders set to open as the model makes its first local appearance. The V27 sits at the top of the iCAUR range and follows the design direction introduced with the V23. It features a larger body, increased interior space and a range-extender electric drivetrain.
A turbo-charged 1,5-litre engine works with a 34,3 kWh battery and two electric motors to produce 339 kW. The vehicle has an electric range of 150 km and a total driving range of more than 1 000 km, with the dual-motor version accelerating from standstill to 100 km/h in five seconds. The cabin includes a dual panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, ambient lighting and up to 50 storage compartments. The chassis was developed with support from the Prodrive racing team, and more than 76% of the safety structure uses high-strength steel.
Shannon Gahagan, National Brand and Marketing Manager at iCAUR and OMODA & JAECOO South Africa, said the company did not want the V27’s first public appearance to be a static display. She added the Festival of Motoring would give visitors time to view the vehicle and the broader range, and that a partnership with Red Bull would ensure continued engagement beyond the event. The 03T REEV will also be on display alongside the V27, with further details to be released closer to its local introduction.
The iCAUR presence at the Festival includes several interactive elements across the venue. Visitors can collect an iCAUR Game Pass from the welcome desk or any iCAUR space, with each interaction providing an entry into a ball pit located in the food court. No app or login is required. Among the orange and white balls, a limited number of blue balls are hidden, each of which can be exchanged for iCAUR merchandise. The blue balls are returned to the pit after each win and remain available for other visitors. On-site T-shirt printing is offered through the Rep My T activity, where visitors can choose a design and have it printed while they wait. Those wishing to test-drive a model can register at the SnowPeak lounge before taking a selected iCAUR vehicle on the road. The lounge also serves as a waiting area for guests before their scheduled drive.
