Then you put your foot down and suddenly you're reminded there's a naturally aspirated V8 sitting under the bonnet. It's effortless, it's smooth, and when you want it to be, it's seriously quick. They don't build cars like this anymore, and that's exactly why these have developed such a loyal following over the years.
This 2009 model is even more special because it marks the final production year of the CLK. Mercedes had years to refine it, and this is the result. You get everything people loved about the platform, with all the improvements that came towards the end of its life. Finding one is easy enough. Finding one that's actually worth owning is a completely different story.
This one ticks every box. Just over 107,000km, a Full Service History by Mercedes-Benz and approved workshops, with the most recent service completed by Mercedes-Benz itself. The condition is exceptional, inside and out, and it drives exactly the way a CLK500 should. It's refined when you're cruising, yet the moment that V8 wakes up it completely changes personality. There's something incredibly satisfying about driving a proper naturally aspirated Mercedes V8, and that's a feeling that's becoming rarer every year.
