Renault South Africa has brought back the Trafic Passenger to its local line-up, reintroducing a nameplate that has not been available in the country for close to 20 years.The vehicle, a pioneer of the MPV, is positioned it as a solution for families, shuttle operators and commercial users seeking a people-moving option.The reintroduction forms part of the brand's wider strategy to expand its local presence, strengthening its position in both the passenger and light commercial vehicle segments.
The Trafic nameplate has built a global reputation for durability and adaptability over its production history. Locally, the new model adds a fresh option to the Renault range and provides a purpose-built people-mover for modern transport requirements.
The Renault Trafic Passenger can accommodate up to nine occupants, making it suited to larger families or business users in need of a premium shuttle alternative.

Inside, the cabin prioritises comfort and connectivity. An 8-inch multimedia display, digital instrument cluster and smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard. Depending on the specification level, customers can also opt for a wireless charging pad, heated driver's seat and upgraded upholstery.
Storage space throughout the cabin totals 84,2 litres, while the interior layout allows for various seating configurations. Cargo capacity can be expanded to 6 000 litres depending on the arrangement selected, enabling the vehicle to switch between passenger transport and load-carrying duties.
The Trafic Passenger incorporates Renault's current design language, with Pure Vision C-shaped LED headlights, the updated diamond emblem and 16-inch alloy wheels contributing to its road presence. The interior has been designed to maximise space and comfort for both driver and passengers.
A selection of accessories is available, including roof bars, roof boxes, side steps, towbar options and illuminated door sills, allowing for further customisation.

On the safety front, the Trafic Passenger comes with rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, tyre pressure monitoring and six crash bags as standard. Higher-spec derivatives also feature 360-degree parking sensors to assist with manoeuvring in tight spaces.
The vehicle benefits from Renault's Human First Programme, a global initiative focused on protecting road users through driver assistance technologies and collaboration with emergency responders.
Under the bonnet, the Trafic Passenger uses a 2,0-litre dCi turbo-diesel engine that produces 125 kW and 380 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a nine-speed EAG9 automatic transmission.
Every Trafic Passenger is sold with a 5-year/150 000km mechanical warranty, a 5-year/90 000km service plan and 24-hour roadside assistance.
