Kia South Africa has updated its Sonet range, with additional safety, technology and comfort features across the line-up. All models are covered by a five-year warranty with no kilometre limit.
The EX derivative now has a sunroof as standard. Kia says the feature adds to the appearance and ownership experience of the mid-range model.
A new LS+ derivative has been added, bringing a six-crashbag safety specification to a lower point in the range. It also features Kia's styled wheels, which the company says give the vehicle a more rugged look. The flagship SX model now includes a BOSE sound system as standard.
Electronic Stability Control and Hill-start Assist Control remain standard across the range.

The line-up has been restructured. Two new LS+ derivatives, one with a manual transmission and one with a CVT, sit between the entry-level LS models and the LX. The LX and EX grades gain additional technology and comfort features. The SX retains Kia's advanced driver assistance systems and a 10.25-inch HD display, now paired with the BOSE sound system.
The Sonet is powered by a 1.5 MPI petrol engine producing 85 kW and 144 Nm, available with a five-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. Ground clearance is 190 mm and luggage capacity is 385 litres.
Kia South Africa CEO Paul Turnbull said the Sonet has been a popular choice among local buyers and that the updated range extends safety and technology features to more customers at prices suited to the market.
The warranty applies regardless of distance driven, which Kia notes is relevant for high-mileage owners, long-distance commuters and fleet operators.
